What we expect you to do:

  • As Procurement Executive, you are responsible for driving the business forward by working with the Senior Procurement Executive and developing your own working relationships with suppliers and all internal departments.
  • To do this effectively you will build and maintain strong relationships with our network of partners across the UK through effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • You will work with our suppliers to build a database of coverage and ensure that it is reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
  • You will conduct cost analysis to review with the Senior Procurement Executive. This analysis will assist in the decision making for contractor optimisation and projects.
  • You will need to use strong negotiation skills to secure competitive rates from our supplier base which will enable us to increase profit margin, secure new business and retain long term customers.
  • Through the relationships that you create you will optimise the supply chain, negotiating preferential rates, reducing the supplier base, data cleanse our internal system.
  • You will support the Senior Procurement Executive and Operations Manager in the co-ordination and management of the annual price increase.
  • You will support the Senior Procurement Executive by preparing information ready for supplier quarterly review meetings.
  • You will manage your workload to ensure that you are able to complete projects.
  • You will work closely with the Corporate Sustainability and Corporate Innovation Teams, in order to understand the customer’s objectives and business goals to secure prices from suppliers that are both compliant and competitive.
  • You will record the rates in the agreed format and provide them to the Sales Team for use in the tender process.
  • You will detail any caveats that form part of the pricing structure.
  • You will be required to support the mobilisation team on various projects when needed.

Confident and capable IT skills – You will be using Microsoft Office. You need to have a good level of competence, being able to operate with confidence and without supervision. You must be able to present information quickly and clearly having the ability to use all the basic functions well

 You will have:

Been a key player in effective team

Achieved GCSE Grade C in Math’s, English & IT

Experience working with third parties

Excellent negotiation skills

Experience working in the waste industry

You will report to the Senior Procurement Executive.

You will be based in Newark, Nottinghamshire at our Head Office location.

This is an office-based role.
