Birmingham Airport Donates Surplus Stock in Support of Local Charities

Birmingham Airport has highlighted its latest efforts to reduce waste in its drive for a more sustainable future and help local people. This time they’ve decided to help our local charities which we support throughout the year, Emmaus Trust and Trussell Trust.

During August 2022, the airport’s on-site shops and restaurants donated cosmetics and toiletries for our local charities who can repurpose the products, worth an estimated £1,000 at retail prices.

Items including body shop items, premium body wash, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, sun protection cream, moisturisers and more were kindly donated and will go to support the work of two local charities at Novati – Emmaus Trust and Trussell Trust.

Our very own, Senior Corporate Sustainability Manager Darren Andrew helped sort through, pack, and deliver the products to our offices, which included seven full trays of products to be delivered to the charities. He Said, We believe that Birmingham Airports success is because together, we’re talking about resource management and innovation rather than waste management and bins. It’s essential that we focus on reducing and reusing materials because this has the greatest impact on the environment and the climate crisis. It’s fantastic to be able to deliver a continual project with Birmingham Airport that positively impacts local communities, the work they’ve put in over the years has been a joy to be a part of.”

All the products will the delivered over the next week by our HR team.
