Supporting National Apprenticeship Week
National Apprenticeship Week is a fantastic time for recognising and celebrating the achievements of apprentices in the UK. Our team members who have taken part in this scheme have gone on to become integral members to our business, benefiting from the skills learnt during the courses they’ve taken, which is why we’re highlighting their success stories.
We’re always looking for ways to support our local community and we see apprenticeships as a great way to attract people who want a slightly different route into employment. We’ve got more than a dozen team members who have either completed or are currently working within the scheme. We’re nurturing and harnessing the skills of some of our brightest stars who want to learn and earn simultaneously. Our apprentices now have a greater understanding of how we operate, by learning aspects from all departments. They’ve also honed their people management skills and developed new skills to help them with their current roles.
Apprenticeships are leading the charge in the economy building back stronger from the pandemic, with over 40% more people starting apprenticeships in the first quarter of 2021/22 than in the same period 2020/21. Apprenticeships are often seen as a tool exclusively for young people. However, the reality is that age isn’t a barrier, and anyone looking to learn and earn can apply. For us, upskilling our teammates has been proven to help support our clients on their sustainability journey. Engaged, happy teammates deliver the excellent levels of customer care we’re known for, and it’s why we’re memorable for all the right reasons.
Novati People Director, Cathy Cook said “National Apprenticeship Week is a celebration of our apprentices and the apprenticeship scheme. Our team are trained to a consistently high standard and are supported by more experienced staff and tutors. We’re incredibly proud of the fact that some of our apprentices are becoming rising stars within the business. New apprentices represent a great opportunity to mould and develop staff so they can demonstrate our values to our clients on a daily basis.
The scheme encourages local employment which is important to us because we don’t want people to have to sit in cars travelling for hours every day. We’re committed to supporting our local economy in everything that we do.”
